Cape Kidnappers Golf Course
Cape Kidnappers Golf Course combines Tom Doak’s design with dramatic coastal terrain in Hawke’s Bay. The golf course is the subject here, not a general guide to Rosewood Cape Kidnappers or the wider estate.
KNOW THE COURSE
What to know
Architecture and scope
The 18-hole course opened in 2004. Its ridge-and-valley landscape provides the design’s structure, with holes extending toward the coast. The course and associated Rosewood resort are related but should not be treated as interchangeable identities.
Playing character
Clifftop fairways and inland terrain give the round contrasting settings. Plan shots around the visible landing areas and your own carry distances rather than letting the scenery dictate aggressive choices; this is general playing guidance, not a current course-condition report.
Ask HH about this→Signature features
The defining features are elevated coastal holes and fairways set above the Pacific. A single numbered ‘signature hole’ is not asserted here because the reviewed material supports the landscape more clearly than a hole-by-hole claim.
Access before itinerary
Visitor play may be available by advance booking. Ask the golf team to confirm eligibility, dates and any accommodation requirement before making non-refundable plans. This guide does not promise unrestricted public access or access without a resort stay.
Hawke’s Bay travel context
The course is at Te Awanga on the southern Hawke’s Bay coast. Napier and Hastings are useful regional reference points. Coordinate transport with the confirmed golf time rather than relying on a fixed transfer estimate.
